- Montessori Philosophy
- Report Cards – one per term (Parent Teacher interviews are scheduled in first and second term; however, I am available to discuss your child's progress throughout the year.
- Homework - Reading practise is very important to the children of these grade levels. I appreciate your assistance and ask that the children record their reading each day in their agendas. You could also jot me a note as to their progress if you'd like. Also, Dictation will be held each Friday, so the children will be required to practise for that.
- Class begins at 8:45. If your child is late, he/she is required to get a late slip from the office
- Behaviour and Discipline – I like to focus on Respectfulness and Caring for the self and others in order to combat these issues; however appropriate steps will be taken depending on the situation.
- Birthdays – Please remember to use the approved suppliers if you wish to send a snack for your child's birthday. Thank you for providing us with information regarding allergies.
- Uniform Policy – Thank you as well for helping to upkeep the school policy on uniforms. The children are also required to have 3 pairs of shoes and a change of clothing. Please be sure to label all of your child's personal clothing items. This helps when items have been misplaced.
- Agenda – The agendas are used as a communication tool. Also, the children are required to write down the title of the book they are reading each day. If a book is borrowed from the classroom, it must be signed out and returned the following day. Also, we are incorporating a program about “Success”. There are exercises in the agenda that the children will be enjoying periodically throughout the year.
- Kiss 'n Ride
- Clubs – 4:00 – 4:45
- Early Dismissal Forms – See Office
- Library Books – We will go to the Library every Friday as a class; however, the Library is open each morning if your child would like to exchange books before that point. The children are welcome to sign out two books at a time.
- Medication – If your child needs medication, please provide written instructions and permission to the classroom teacher. Please leave refrigerated antibiotics with the office.
Thank You for your kind assistance,
Lisa Walters
